The results are in! I’ve been diligently answering my survey requests for the last three weeks and I got my completed report today.
I’ve been answering questions about what I’m doing, who I’m with, if I have to/want to be doing what I am and how I have been sleeping. It’s a study being managed by the people at trackyourhappiness.org.
Highlights include:
- On Mondays, I am about 10% more miserable but the rest of the days are pretty much the same. That makes me think my dislike of Mondays is psychosomatic.
- Location makes no difference - apart from the time I was in an gelato shop.
- I am happier when I get 8 or more hours of sleep.
- Want to VS have to – I’m lucky. I mostly want to do what I have to do.
- I think positively – When I am judging myself, my environment and people around me, I generally do so positively. And this makes me feel happier.
- Talking is what I do most – this fits no? Although, I am as happy when I’m alone as I am when I am with others.
I’ve elected to start the survey again in 3 months. I’ll see what changes between now and then but this does seem to confirm what I’ve been thinking all along. Believing yourself happy and being positive can make your life better.
