New York fashion week

I’ve been avidly visiting style.com each morning to check out the latest shows from some of my favourite designers. Most of them show in Paris or London so that they are yet to come but I’ve been loving what I’ve seen so far.

Highlights include the amazing polka dots and runway show from Marc Jacobs and the gorgeous minimalism of DKNY. A few reasons to not dread the change of the seasons.

autumn sunday fun day

I love love love autumn. New boots, new coats, jumpers, scarves, hats, porridge, autumn fruit, crunchy orange leaves to kick, cold mornings – all things that keep me happy.

So whilst I am sad to see the end of the summer, I can’t bring myself to be sorry that it’s getting colder now. Yesterday, I had a celebratory day out and chose a few of my favourite things to do.

1. Go for afternoon tea at Bea’s of Bloomsbury

This is an amazing place to have tea. It’s wonderfully yummy and all freshly made in their own open plan kitchen.

Whilst eating your afternoon tea, you can watch them prepare the most amazing cupcakes, cakes and treats. I’m kinda sorry to say that it beats the Hummingbird hands down for freshness and range of cakes.

2. Feed the ducks in Regent’s Park

Take some bread and feed the moorhens, coots, ducks, yellow eyed black ducks, black swans… and pigeons/seagulls. They are all equally appreciative.

3. Visit the rose garden in Regent’s Park

Walk round all the roses. Annoy whoever you are with by smelling lots of them. Take some photos and mourn the fact that you are not green fingered enough to keep any plant alive, let alone a garden.

4. Walk along Regent’s Canal from London Zoo to Camden

And salivate with envy at the amazing Georgian town houses that back on to the canal and wish you were born wealthy.

5. Repair to the lockside Wetherspoons

Console yourself with a white wine spritzer.
