this article, written by simon jenkins and published in the guardian yesterday, really sums up what I am too clumsy to express properly.

i get upset by people who rubbish my wonderful home town and i say so often that they see a different side of it to me. i find calm parks, amazing museums, unique food, an awesome mix of people and a world of opportunity.

it sounds kind of pretentious but i think this is true…

I love this film. it’s soppy and sentimental but beautiful all the same. it’s by a director called Yvan Attal.

it tries to recapture the spirit of ‘Le Baiser de l’Hotel de Ville’ by Robert Doisneau which became famous in the 1950s. I’m not sure it makes it – the original had a lot more glamour – but I still like it.

so these were taken on my phone on friday in the garden of the edinboro castle in camden. i literally sat and stared at the trees and the lights – so beautiful. the air was all cold and crisp too. perfect…
