New Year reading

A few blogs I’m loving reading and that deserve a quick shout out.

A few things I’ve been loving this week

I’m about to rush off for a weekend away with some old friends but wanted to post these first. Really simply, they are things that have been making me smile.

  • I never thought I was the marrying kind but this blog, Rock n Roll Bride, documents some of the most beautiful, unconventionally amazing weddings, I might just come round to the idea.
  • Ever been told to not get ahead of yourself? I hear that more than I would like in a number of contexts and it makes me sad every time. Why not set your goal?
  • I’ve rediscovered Gala Darling lately and her writing impresses me even more now than it did last time I visited. A gentle reminder of why I bother to eat right and go to the gym – Empty bellies do not beget genius
  • And finally, a great article on ‘insights’ that will make all planners and anyone who deals with marketing strategy smile.

Synth Glasgow

Time for an unashamed big up.

Synth Glasgow is a new music blog covering independent club nights, the work of local producers, plus interviews with the promoters & DJ’s who are pushing the scene forward.

They cover disco, dubstep, drum & bass, techno & electro and regularly post links to sweet soundcloud mixes. This week I have been mostly listening Synth Autumn 10, a very cool and diverse mix of a lot of the best tracks out there right now.

There’s also a post dedicated to Mighty Mouse with a link to a new mix. I do love a bit of disco.
