Bag lust

I love this bag. Really. A lot. It’s an Edie shoulder bag from Mulberry and is described officially as powder beige.

It costs a fair amount more than I’ve ever spent on a bag before. I would need to curb the coffee and eating out habit for a little while.

Worth it? I have used my beautiful blue topshop bag every day since I bought it three months ago.  Hmmmm.

New bag!

I made the choice to get this bag fairly quickly in the end. I had a few criteria to fulfil:

  • Colour – I knew I wanted grey, brown or navy as these would go best with the colours I have in my wardrobe. I also already have black and maroon.
  • Price – I would absolutely love to spend £500+ on a bag (this Chloé bag is beautiful for example) but I get such bad buyer’s remorse, I could never enjoy using it. £100 is my upper limit.
  • Size – I have two small bags. This needed to be big enough to accommodate all my Mary Poppins like stuff.
  • Leather – It had to be real.
  • Style – A classic but not old style that won’t date too quickly. This also rules out all the current it bags of the season.

I had seen this one a month ago and thought I couldn’t justify it. I went on to buy some clothes I’m now not wearing. They seemed more practical at the time… So, given my self imposed two month shopping ban and my acknowledged lack of a bag like this I went ahead and got it.

I loved it when I first saw it and love it even more now!

new shoes + old new shoes

the shoes on the left are the new ones – high heeled, platform soled, zip backed beauties from kurt geiger to be precise. I cannot wait until it gets cool enough to wear them.

I’m currently squeezing the last few wears out of my flip flops but am more than ready to move back to boots, coats and hats.

The ones one the right are the new old shoes. As in, so old I can consider them new because they haven’t been in fashion for a while and they are again now.

I can’t get over my long held conviction that brogues are men’s shoes. Add a heel though and I’m a whole lot happier. I’m thinking I might wear these with lace trimmed ankle socks.
