Leadenhall Market, the City
I get all kinds of excited about Christmas and one of my favourite things are the amazingly pretty displays of fairy lights that pop up. I’d love to see them all year round but concede that they do make London especially pretty in months that can be quite dark and gloomy.
I’ve been taking photos all over town and will be uploading them as I go. I’ve even created a new ‘Lights’ category and started it off by moving a few old posts over.
I’m not sure anyone else will enjoy looking at them as much as I do but I’ll try none the less!
The first is on Watling Street in Moorgate. I love that the lights are hanging off the scafolding and that there are chandeliers to top it off. Strange but gorgeous.
I love london. this is where I grew up and where I feel at home. I love all of it – shops, galleries, restaurants, parks, the eccentric people, even the tube.
But what most people forget or don’t manage to see is that it is beautiful. I got sent this link yesterday (thank you btw) and the photos are gorgeous.
They are taken by jason hawkes, a uk based photographer that specialises in aerial photography. I find something new to love about this city every day. And I’ve lived here a while now…
